SUBORIGINAL SCRIBBLES
Doodling has been one of my oldest habits
well over half a century I’ve been scribbling
drawing on various surfaces, sand and soil
wood, paper, the steam on glass windows
my hands move without conscious direction
without intention spontaneous and playful.
We all doodle dots, lines, hearts and circles
quick shapes, while the mind is occupied
when we’re daydreaming or lucid dreaming
mind space functions by automatic habits
subconscious gestures, brisk impressions
similar to chewing fingernails or scratching
there are many weird habits we often display
this one is positive, therapeutic and fulfilling
creatively potent, revealing latent potentials.
I consider doodling to be a benevolent habit
the foundation, the backbone of my art form
as I am scrutinizing and refining my doodles
also interpreting, deciphering and expounding
picking signals from the subconscious regions
genetic memory stretching towards primordial
there is an indigenous tongue we can all speak
I've the feeling, that is what I have been doing.
